Mommy Makeover
The mommy makeover has become a progressively popular cosmetic surgery procedure that aims to reverse the physical effects of pregnancy on a woman’s body. While it is true that a few fortunate new mothers are able to regain their pre-pregnancy physique, the majority of women experience permanent changes that cannot be remedied through diet and exercise alone.
A tummy tuck has the potential to address concerns such as stretch marks, surplus skin, and muscle separation. Additional postpartum concerns, such as a decrease in breast volume following an extended period of lactation, can be addressed through the use of breast implants. A mommy makeover involves commonly performed surgical procedures that offer a comprehensive solution for restoring a confident and well-proportioned physique.
Mommy Makeover Inclusions
A mommy makeover is a series of cosmetic procedures customized for each woman based on the issues she wishes to address. The most frequent procedures consist of:
- Liposuction: fat removal that slims and reshapes the treatment area
- Abdominoplasty: enhances the appearance of the abdomen (also called the tummy tuck)
- Breast Augmentation: enhances size and shape of the breasts
- Breast Lift: removes excess skin and tightens surrounding tissue, lifting the breasts
- Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL): transfers fat from abdomen, hips, thigh, or lower back to the buttocks
- Fat Grafting: Transfers fat from a region of the body to another to improve overall shape
Any mix of the above steps can be part of a mommy makeover. During your appointment, you and your doctor will figure out which treatments will work best together to get you the results you want.
Mommy Makeover Benefits
Reduced Costs: The most useful thing about a mommy makeover is that it lets you combine tasks to save money. As with any package deal, having multiple cosmetic treatments done at the same time will be much cheaper than having them done separately over time.
Enhanced Youthful Appearance: The main benefit of a mommy makeover is that it can reverse the signs of aging and give a person a more youthful look generally. Your mommy makeover will give your body back its firmness and flexibility, which will give you back a lot of self-confidence.
Combined Recovery: When done by themselves, cosmetic treatments can take weeks or even months to heal from. This means taking time off from work, arranging for help from friends and family, and dealing with the normal aches and pains that come with healing. Even though a mommy makeover takes a long time to heal, it is a one-time fix that will take you much less time to heal in the long run.
Feel More Confident: As a new mom, you might feel a lot of different aches and pains that don’t always go away. Some of the long-term effects of giving birth are weaker stomach muscles and trouble carrying extra weight. Mommy makeovers take away pain, so you not only look younger but also feel younger and therefore more confident.
Mommy Makeover Recovery
Recovery from a mommy makeover will depend on how many treatments were done and how extensive they were. If your mommy makeover only involves a little liposuction and maybe a mini-abdominoplasty, it may only take you a few weeks to get back to your regular life.
If you have a full abdominoplasty, a Brazilian butt lift, and a breast enlargement. and, it could take you between three and six months to recover from all of them.
Your doctor will explain all of the procedures you will have to go through. Most likely, a schedule will start with 24 hours of bed rest at the place of surgery. During the first twenty-four hours, your body goes through a lot of changes and needs a lot of time to heal.
Due to the healing of your abdomen, should you choose to undergo an abdominoplasty, you may walk a little bit hunched over for the first week after you get home. After a few weeks, you should be able to stop taking the medicine and go back to normal movement and light exercise. After 6 weeks, you might be able to start a light exercise routine, and after 3 to 6 months, you should be fully healed.
During your appointment with Dr. Fortes, you will talk in depth about other details, such as bandages and wraps, avoiding pressure on certain body parts, and the best way to sleep.
Mommy Makeover Candidacy
The most important thing about being a candidate for a mommy makeover is that the set of treatments should only be done on women who are done having kids. If you want more kids, you should put off the surgeries until you know you won’t get pregnant again. It could be expensive to change your body only to have another baby cause new problems that need to be fixed.
Other issues such as medical history or potential complications will also be discussed in a consultation.
