Liposculpting
Dr. Fortes has performed thousands of liposuction procedures in Houston using the latest techniques to ensure his patients are satisfied and safe.
During liposuction (generally an outpatient procedure under general or local anesthesia), a small incision is made in the skin to insert a small hollow tube (or cannula) that helps remove excess fat from the body.
Once the desired amount of fat is removed, the area is stitched and prepped for recovery. Sutures are removed after about one week, and patients can return to work in five to seven days. Depending on the details of your liposuction treatment, normal athletic activities can be resumed in about three weeks.
Prospective patients must realize that liposuction is not a substitute for a weight loss program and is only recommended for those individuals of normal weight to slightly above normal weight that have excess pockets of fat that do not respond to diet or exercise.

Types of Liposuction
The tumescent technique for liposuction is the most commonly used method for achieving desired results in contouring and sculpturing areas. Ultrasonic Assisted Liposuction (UAL) is now being used in conjunction with tumescent liposuction techniques.
